We have an EP&O Replacement Levy on the ballot February 10

An educational programs and operations levy, also called an EP&O levy or an enrichment levy, is a funding measure that helps bridge the gap between educational programs and services that the state does not fund or underfunds.

Levy funding is critical to maintaining programs and services that are not fully funded by the state, such as athletics, and fine arts, school security, and staff positions that directly serve students. Our EP&O levy funds provide approximately 15% of our overall operating budget.

This is not a new tax. If approved, it would replace a previously approved local funding measure that is set to expire at the end of 2026.

If it passes, the levy will continue to fund:

  • Student learning: classroom teachers, basic education paraeducators, curriculum, technology staff, and instructional materials.
  • Student support, safety & supervision: counselors and security staff.
  • Daily operations and maintenance: custodial, grounds, and maintenance staff and affiliated costs.
  • Extracurricular programs: athletics, clubs, and other activities.

Essential staff positions are funded as follows:

School Board Appreciation Month

January is School Board Appreciation Month. We are grateful for the dedicated volunteer leaders who guide and support our schools all year long. Our School Board Directors work tirelessly behind the scenes—shaping policy, advocating for resources, and keeping students at the heart of every decision. Their commitment ensures that our schools remain places where all students can learn, grow, and thrive.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our board members for their vision, hard work, and unwavering service to our school community. Their leadership strengthens every classroom and every school, and we are proud to recognize and celebrate the difference they make for our students, families, and staff.

Join us in thanking our school board directors

We invite you to send a note of thanks to our school board members at schoolboard@bremertonschools.org or send a note to the Board at 134 Marion Avenue North, Bremerton, WA 98312.

Important winter weather Information

Please take a moment to review our winter weather communication information below so you are ready should we have weather-related delays or closures! Thank you!

What families need to know

We make every effort to make the decision about school closures due to winter weather by 5:30 a.m. (or sometimes even the night before, if possible).

We will communicate information and updates about weather impacts on school via:

Important: We do not send out early morning "robo calls" for snow days or winter weather delays. If a decision is made to delay or cancel school the night before, we will notify families and staff via ParentSquare and robo call that evening.

We encourage you to review our winter weather information now so you know what to expect when we have weather-related school delays or closures!
