The Bremerton School District Advisory Council is reviewing levy options for the upcoming February 2026 election. Levy funding is critical to maintaining programs and services that are not fully funded by the state, such as athletics and fine arts, school security, and staff positions that directly serve students.
Given the ongoing underfunding of programs from the state, the Bremerton School District is currently operating with a projected budget deficit of approximately $800,000 for the 2025-2026 school year. Looking ahead to the following year, we anticipate additional increases in costs of about $600,000 for an estimated total of $1.4 million over the next two years. This means that while our levy funding helps sustain programs and services, it is also critical for keeping the district financially stable.
The District Advisory Council will review community input as they make a recommendation to the Bremerton School Board on the levy resolution. Your feedback will help ensure that community voice informs this important decision.
This anonymous survey should take less than 5 minutes to complete.

Have you completed your ABCs?
Every fall, we ask our families to complete the Annual Back-to-school Check-in process or ABCs (formerly known as the Annual Demographic Update).
Families are asked to log into their Skyward Family Access account and take a few moments to complete this important process. It should take about 5 minutes (or less!) to complete the process for each child in your household and can be done on any mobile device or computer.
The ABC process must be completed for all students in the district - including both previously enrolled as well as newly registered students. If your student will be enrolled in Running Start, the process must be completed for them as well.
If you have questions about the ABC process, please contact us by email or call 360-473-1076.

Please complete your CNEEB application
If you haven’t yet turned in your family's bright yellow Child Nutrition Education and Eligibility Benefits (CNEEB) application, please do so as soon as possible. You only need to complete one form per family!
Submitting your application helps ensure your family receives all available benefits and supports important school programs. Based on feedback from families, we opted to collect paper forms this year rather than asking families to complete the form in Skyward. Thank you for your cooperation!

Does anybody else get the song from the Lorax stuck in their head when they hear about the CNEEB form?

Results are now available for students in grades 6, 9 and 12 who participated in the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS) test last spring.
To access your student’s test results, log into Skyward and click on the “portfolio” tab on the left menu bar. These results are NOT in the “test scores” section.
To understand more information about these tests and results you can access the OSPI Understanding Your Score Report website. For assistance accessing Skyward or to request a printed copy or an ADA-compliant version of these reports, please contact our student data team at 360-473-1069 or by email at Student.Data@BremertonSchools.org.

Every year the Bremerton School District must apply for Federal Impact Aid funds from the U.S. Department of Education. These funds compensate the District for the loss of local tax dollars due to families living in tax exempt federal property in the Bremerton area. Watch for information later in October about this important process.
Q: Why don't we collect Impact Aid and CNEEB forms at the same time?
A: While both forms are crucial, they serve different purposes. With Impact Aid, we are required to follow the federal government's specific timeline for collecting that information. The CNEEB form is collected earlier because it's used to verify your family's eligibility for a number of important benefits, including free ASB cards and discounts on school fees. This allows us to provide those benefits to our students right away, without waiting for the federal Impact Aid window later in the fall.

Students at Mountain View Middle School and Bremerton High School may purchase an ASB “card” (a sticker that goes on their student ID making it an ASB card).
- For BHS, an ASB card gives students free entrance to athletic events and discounted tickets on school activities like dances and plays.
- For MVMS, ASB cards get students 30% off MVMS apparel at the student store and $1 off dances.
ASB stickers are required to participate in BHS or MVMS athletics
All students participating in athletics at Mountain View Middle School or Bremerton High School must have a current ASB sticker on their student ID card. ASB cards are $25 for MVMS and $40 for BHS.
If a student purchases their ASB sticker before they have their ID card (for example, if they missed picture day), they will get a receipt that will serve as a temporary ASB card. Students can also show their sticker or a copy of the receipt.
Free ASB stickers based on family income
Some students may qualify for a free ASB sticker based on family income. Families who believe they may qualify must complete THIS FORM (Spanish) and return it via email to cns@BremertonSchools.org or turn it in at the BHS Athletics/Activities window or the MVMS main office. This form must be submitted and eligibility must be confirmed prior to students receiving the free ASB sticker. These forms are also available in the main office for both schools. This information remains confidential.
Families who qualify for a free ASB sticker for their Bremerton High School student(s) also qualify for free admission to ticketed events at Bremerton High School. Learn more.

Stopfinder is a secure, easy-to-use app that allows parents and guardians to accurately track their children’s school bus in real-time.
With StopFinder you can:
View the location of your student’s bus and know when it will reach your student’s stop.
Securely share your student’s schedule with caregivers.
Receive location notifications based on GeoAlert regions you create for your student.
Stopfinder can be downloaded for free from the App Store or Google Play. Stopfinder requires an invite and registration through the District prior to accessing your student’s transportation schedule. Only authorized users will have access to school bus information.
We have resolved our system issue. Stopfinder invitations were sent out to all families with a current email address in Skyward September 26, 2025.
If you did not receive an invitation and would like to use the app, please:
- Complete your ABCs in Skyward and/or contact your child’s school to update your email address and
- Contact the District Transportation Department at 360-473-0507 or Transportation@BremertonSchools.org to request an invitation.

National School Bus Safety Week is October 20-24, 2025. Although school buses are one of the safest modes of transportation, injuries and fatalities do occur outside of or near the buses. Most often, these tragedies occur because a motorist has failed to slow down and obey the bus’s stop sign, or to follow local traffic laws.
|
Understanding School Bus Lights
Yellow flashing lights indicate the bus is preparing to stop to load or unload children. You should slow down and prepare to stop your vehicle.
Red flashing lights and extended stop arms indicate the bus has stopped and children are getting on or off. You must stop your car and wait until the red lights stop flashing, the extended stop-arm is withdrawn, and the bus begins moving, before you can start driving again.
|
Staying safe while riding the bus
We also have some important expectations for all students riding the bus. We ask all students to be safe, respectful, responsible and kind.
Safe
- Stay in your designated area
- Stay seated
- Keep your hands to yourself
Respectful
- Respect personal space
- Respect school property
- Respect other people’s property
Responsible
- Be at stop 5 minutes before scheduled time
- Stay seated
- Keep jokes & conversations appropriate
Kind
- Talk nicely to each other
- Wait your turn to board
- Be kind & helpful
