be Bremerton: A Day of Service is a districtwide event to show the Bremerton Community and the City of Bremerton our thanks for their tremendous support of the Bremerton School District and our students. BSD students, staff, families and volunteers will gather at Evergreen Rotary Park on Saturday May 14, and then break-up into teams to clean up downtown Bremerton before the annual Armed Forces Day parade and celebration!
Garbage bags will be provided. If possible, please bring:
- gardening or work gloves
- garden/hand tools
- brooms / dust pans
- water to stay hydrated (especially if the weather is warm)*
A limited supply of FREE t-shirts will be available. If you have participated in the past and still have your t-shirt, wear it to be entered into a drawing!
8:30-8:45 a.m. Team Leaders arrive and check-in.
8:45 - 9 a.m. - Team Leader orientation.
9 - 9:30 a.m. - Volunteers arrive at Evergreen Rotary Park (at the south end of the park near the 911 Memorial) and 1) pick up their t-shirts and 2) check-in with their Team Leaders. Team photos will be taken. Enjoy some free Starbucks coffee while meeting your teammates!
9:30 - 9:45 a.m. - Teams gather in the amphitheater for a brief welcome message from the District and Bremerton Mayor Greg Wheeler, a group picture, and instructions.
9:45 - 11:00 a.m. - Teams clean-up their assigned areas downtown.
11 - 11:15 a.m. Teams return to Evergreen Rotary Park.
11:00 - 12 noon: Volunteers enjoy a complimentary lunch graciously provided by Seaside Church (Team photos will be taken if not taken earlier.
