Multiple online SIOP (Sheltered Instruction) courses are available throughout year.

The SIOP course teaches highly effective and engaging instructional strategies to support ELL (and other struggling students) in your general education and core content area classes.

You will earn up to 22 clock hours for completing the course.  The course can be done at your own pace from the comfort of your own home.  There is no better way to spend your free time than learning about SIOP!

These 4-week institutes consist of 11 sessions. Virtual institute participants complete a series of assignments on their own schedule as well as meeting in a virtual group to collaborate, discuss, and share information with their colleagues. The sessions are led by an expert in the topic, and one session is devoted to a question and answer session with the authors. All virtual institute participants receive electronic resources and the accompanying book from the best-selling series The SIOP® Model Series to support their learning.

The registration fee out of our Federal ELL Professional Development Budget.  You pay for the clock hours if you want them. Space is limited!

Contact Julie Lordon if you have questions or to register for a class.
