Expect field trip fees as well.Prerequisite: Successful completion of Algebra is required.NOTE: Students should be highly motivated and expect a high volume of reading material and homework.As with any Advanced Placement course, AP Environmental Science is rigorous and demanding. This is an interdisciplinary science course, drawing from many different fields of study. Emphasis is placed on understanding the interrelationships of the natural world, identifying and understanding environmental problems, and examining solutions to these problems. In order to be successful, an APES student should be highly motivated, a skilled reader, a critical thinker and a problem solver. They should also have an interest in laboratory and field (outdoor) study. Success will prepare students for the Next Generation Science Assessment (NGSA) and meet the Earth and Space requirements for the Next Generation Science Standards.
