    Training

The Bremerton School District encourages all classified employees to pursue professional and personal growth experiences through additional training opportunities. Most District-sponsored in-service activities are open to both classified and certificated employees. In addition, the District has reserved a budget solely for classified personnel training; to have access, an application must be submitted as detailed in the following paragraphs.

The process for applying for staff development funds is as follows:
    • If you are applying for a District-sponsored workshop, complete a classified staff development registration form and return it to the Superintendent's Office.
    • If you are applying for a workshop outside the District, complete an Application for Classified Staff Development Funds and return it to the Superintendent's Office.

You will be paid from a time sheet for any approved courses taking place after scheduled work hours as long as funds remain available.

Classified Staff Development Opportunities in Technology

In addition to being able to request funding for workshops outside the District, the Curriculum Office is able to pay for technology workshops and conferences offered in-District, through the ESD or Olympic College. Workshops need to be relevant to your position, related to learning and/or be part of your professional goals. Funding for the workshop fees and extra time (if applicable) is available to all classified staff.

If you are interested in participating in technology staff development opportunities, please contact Patty Glaser at 360.473.1003.
