What is DoDEA?

DoDEA stands for The Department of Defense Education Activity. DoDEA supports programs that aim to increase student achievement in military-connected local school districts and aims to ease the challenges and transitions that students face due to their parents' military service.
The DoDEA Education Partnership Grant Program showcases the vision of the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) which is “Excellence in Education for Every Student, Every Day, Everywhere.” Since 2009, DoDEA has awarded over 475 grants in 36 states reaching over 3,000 military-connected public schools nationwide.
DoDEA partnerships support partnerships that help military connected students be college and career ready. Together we aim to empower students to work toward clear, consistent and high-reaching goals and exceed learning expectations in order to achieve a rich, rigorous and well-rounded education.

DoDEA Science Grant
The Bremerton School District has received a five-year grant from the Department of Defense Education Activity (DODEA). The purpose of this grant is to The grant activities will include: increase Science achievement for military connected students, and all students.
- A full-time instructional coach for Science for elementary school teachers
- Professional development for teachers in Science
- Developing, updating, and aligning Science resources to the NGSS Science standards
- Online resources and professional development for teachers
DoDEA Future Ready Grant
The Bremerton School District has received a five-year grant from the Department of Defense Education Activity (DODEA). The purpose of this grant is to increase Math achievement and STEM Career Pathways for military-connected and all students.
The grant activities include:
- On-going Math/STEM Professional Development
- On-going STEM Career Professional Development
- Career Fairs for all grade levels
- STEM integration for all grade levels
- Districtwide Math Blast STEM Family Event
- Districtwide Children's Day Family Event, includes STEM
- Summer STEM Camps
