Bremerton High Receives Washington STEM Award

Washington STEM Entrepreneur Award investments support the exploration of breakthrough ideas and promising approaches in STEM education. These awards provide incentive for educators both in- and out-of-school settings to explore, take risks, pilot new ideas, and generate solutions that can be extended statewide. With this round of investments, Washington STEM has committed $2,010,000 reaching more than 500 teachers and 16,000 students across Washington.

Transition 9thGrade Science to STEM ($10,000)

High School | 54% Poverty | 45% Minority

As part of a broader district, higher education, and industry effort to improve PreK-20 STEM education, Bremerton High School will convert the 9th grade Physical Science curriculum into a mandatory project based Engineering course. Funding will enable professional development and common planning time for eight teachers to develop projects, connect with industry partners, and align the curriculum to the common core standards.
