PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Welcome to View Ridge Elementary where our mantra is “Every child, every day, every way”.  We are a community school in the heart of East Bremerton.  It is clear from current survey data that our students, parents and staff believe our school is a focused, safe learning environment with high standards and highly qualified staff.

This school year we will focus on high standards for learning.  In addition we have established objectives based on the 9 Characteristics of High Performing Schools survey data.  The following are a sample of some of those objectives.

  1. Continuous monitoring of achievement using data (WASL, DIBELS, Fact Fluency)
  2. School Newsletter & Info Half Sheets in between to notify parents of upcoming events
  3. School-wide Teacher Teaming & Site Decision Making
  4. Student Leadership Opportunities
  5. Otter School (remediation in reading)
  6. Monthly family involvement events sponsored in partnership with PTA

We take great pride in being a family-oriented school and believe it takes all of us working together to help our children succeed.  We look forward to the 2007-2008 school year and feel we are well positioned for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead of our students & us.
