COMPREHENSIVE LEARNING PLAN

Naval Ave Early Learning Center is a school wide Title I school.  We have established grade level goals Preschool – third grade in the areas of Reading, Writing, Math and Science.  Our academic history can be accessed on the OSPI school report site.  Each child is assessed three times per year in the area of reading and math and their progress is monitored at least every two to four weeks.  We have flexible groupings for reading that change every four to six weeks depending on the student’s achievement.  Students “walk to their appropriate reading teacher” so that each child can experience additional help or enrichment. Last year our school celebrated the success of our full day kindergarten program with 97% of all our kindergarteners reading at benchmark.
At Naval we have school wide behavior expectations; Respect, Responsibility and Safety. Our staff establishes a clear set of behavior expectations and continues to teach and model correct problem solving techniques.  We believe that families are the first teachers of their children and we want to support you as you teach these to your children as well.

Please contact the school if you are interested in reviewing the 2008-09 Comprehensive Learning Plan.
