New Principal Named for 2009-10 School Year

Flint Walpole has been named Principal of Kitsap Lake Elementary starting the 2009/10 school year.  His experience and leadership at the secondary level and from West Hills Elementary will be a fabulous additional to the wonderful staff at Kitsap Lake.

Principal’s Message

We, at Kitsap Lake Elementary, are engaged in wonderful learning experiences for our kids. We are providing an excellent core curriculum, and teachers utilize effective instructional strategies. We provide many additional interventions for kids who need extra support. We have a wonderful Early Morning Learning Community which provides extra help for kids so that they can better meet state and federal standards. The most exciting instructional change recently is our commitment to all-day Kindergarten. This will give all Kindergarten students a “double dose” of great learning opportunities, allowing for improved literacy and math skills.

Our school-wide goals are to:

  • Create a caring school climate where people respect and trust others and have fun.
  • Improve student achievement by promoting a team atmosphere.
  • Promote parental and community involvement in the educational process.
  • Develop assessment practices that can correctly determine student performance.
  • Use data from assessment to improve instructional practices.
  • Promote students’ learning through fun, engaging instruction.

We appreciate the support of our parents and community in the important work of helping our students succeed and grow into respectful citizens.
