COMPREHENSIVE LEARNING PLAN |
Every year, the staff at Armin Jahr develops a comprehensive learning plan based on student achievement, district goals, and parent input. The purpose of this plan is to identify areas for improvement and to set goals for the next year.
Our data shows that students at Armin Jahr have continued to make adequate yearly progress in meeting State standards for reading, math, writing, and science. While we continue to score at the State average in math and writing, and significantly above the State average in science, we still have far too many students who are struggling to reach grade level standards in reading. To address this concern, we have partnered with Washington Reading Corps to gain additional tutoring support for reading and have created a plan with our Title I staff to ensure that every student who is below standard gets additional focused reading instruction. The acquisition of basic math skills and problem-solving skills continues to be a focus for our mathematics instruction and our teachers are working on gaining additional instructional strategies to assist students who struggle with mathematics computation and strategies. We continue to provide additional assistance to any student who demonstrates the need and will provide testing for specialized instruction when necessary.
Please contact the school if you are interested in reviewing the 2008-09 Comprehensive Learning Plan. |
