The Technology Services Department is responsible for computer networks, computers, e-mail, telephones, student data systems, technology planning and integrating technology into the curriculum.
The department consists of 1 District Technology Director, 1 Network Manager, 1 Network Specialist, 1 Student Data Analyst, 1 Student Data Coordinator, 1 Help Desk Technician/Office Manager, 1 Technology Integration Coach, 1 Telephone/Computer Technician and 1 Computer Technician. We are located at the south end of the Administration Building.
If you are having computer/telephone problems or need assistance with planning or technology-related purchases, you may submit a work request through your local Building Technology Facilitator, Librarian or Office Manager. All have access to the online help desk to submit work requests. The second option is to e-mail Tech.Services@bsd.wednet.edu. For emergencies, please call Technology Services at 360.473.1052 and, if necessary, leave a message with your name, school site, room number and short description of the problem.
Contact Technology Services. We will reset your password and provide you the new information. For security reasons, we may require validation of your identity before issuing you a new password, so it may take a little while.
Please be sure you read the District Acceptable Use Policy. You must have a signed consent form on file to legally use the system and you are responsible for appropriate use for your job classification. The technology you use is the property of the District and is open for inspection at any time, so don’t send e-mails, instant messages, attachments, put inappropriate files on the computer or make telephone calls that would embarrass you if they were on the front page of the newspaper! Even when web browsing, habits can be monitored by others! The District understands that are times when you need to a make personal phone call or send a personal e-mail, but please do not abuse these privileges. If you supervise students, we suggest you develop your own AUP for the computers in your classroom and review the policy in the student handbook. Students are assumed to have Internet Access, just like they have access to the library, unless the parents request no access.
NO! All equipment connected to our networks must be supplied by the District to ensure compatibility. If you have a District-issued laptop, you are responsible for ensuring no viruses or inappropriate materials are brought into the District. Personal staff cell phones are generally acceptable for use on personal time, but check with your direct supervisor for specific guidelines.
Technology is a wonderful tool. It can make your jobs easier and help improve student achievement at the same time. Please use it wisely.
