donation guidelines

Student and staff in the Bremerton School District benefit greatly from the generous donation of new & used computers. With our community’s help we been able to keep pace with the technology needs of our ever-changing world.

The Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction has recommended the following minimum standards for computers donated to schools. If you have a donation that you would like to make, please review the following standards and contact our Technology Office at 473-1052.

Minimum Standards for State Surplus Computers for K-12 Schools

Intel or AMD based Pentium III or IV 1.0 GhZ or higher desktop (Celeron 1.1 GhZ or higher), 17 inch monitor (1024 X 768 resolution; or 15 inch or larger LCD flat panel),  keyboard and mouse, or 800 MhZ or higher laptop, min. 128 MB RAM and 10 GB hard drive, CD-ROM drive, USB ports, Windows 2000 or higher*, Ethernet NIC card, and sound card [Preferably Pentium IV or M with speakers, 80 GB or larger hard drive, USB 2.0 or firewire port(s), Windows XP or higher*, 512 MB RAM or greater]  

Peripheral Equipment Standards

Printers (all 3 years old or less): 

  • HP LaserJet IV or higher, HP DeskJet 700 or higher
  • Epson FX-#### laser printers; Epson Stylus 700 or higher inkjet printers
  • Canon BJC or S series BubbleJet printers
  • Lexmark Z Series JetPrinters, Lexmark Optra or E or T series laser printers
