ASSESSMENT

The Bremerton School District participates in federal and state mandated assessments.  Beginning in the 2014-15 school year, subjects included in the Common Core State Standards in English Language Arts and Math will be assessed using the Smarter Balanced system and the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), and the Washington English Language Proficiency Test  (WELPT).  Until new science standards are adopted, students will continue to be assessed using the Measurement of Student Progress (MSP) in grades 5 and 8.  For additional information, please review this Assessment link through the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction.

We also use data from the Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills (DIBELS) and other classroom-based assessments to provide a better quality education for our students. Information about testing is available through our district office and individual schools.
