Health and Fitness Class
Our goal at Naval Ave is for your student to become a physically literate individual that demonstrates the knowledge and skills to achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical activity and fitness. Because motor skill competency is essential for participation in physical activity and health-enhancing fitness, the focus of our Naval Avenue's Health and Fitness classes will be student learning that promotes motor skill competence and knowledge growth. Key factors in this process of your student's motor development will be opportunities for practice, encouragement, and instruction based on their stage of motor development. Therefore, your student will be given multiple, joyful opportunities to explore and experiment with a range of movements in a variety of environmental contexts. The goal is the development of a motor repertoire that later will allow for more skilled actions tailored to specific movement contexts.
