The U.S. Department of Education invited the Bremerton School District to present at the 2010 U.S. Department of Education Reading Institute. Bremerton was the only district invited to participate in this institute because of our efforts in early learning and the developmental strategies focused on birth through third grade. Research demonstrates that learning begins at birth and that high-quality early learning programs help children arrive in kindergarten ready to succeed in school and in life. Bremerton is nationally known for our early literacy efforts and it is an honor to be the only school district presenting at this conference.
